What Your Donations Are Supporting

Donations to the Faith Tilk Memorial Fund are managed by the London Community Foundation. Since it began in 2007, Steve and Nancy Tilk have reviewed numerous children's programs to support with revenue generated by the principal. They have taken a conservative approach to initial donations to ensure the fund's long term sustainability.

To date, the Faith Tilk Memorial Fund has made the following donations:

2008 - Arts for All Kids - $5,000

Every Thursday night from September to April, the London Food Bank comes alive as up to 85 kids, along with 30 volunteer teachers, pack into  brightly-coloured rooms. For 90 minutes each week, Arts for All Kids brings dance lessonsart classpianodramaguitarviolin and creative writing to children who might not otherwise have the opportunity. The program is free to families who don't have the means to pay, and the London Food Bank provides rent-free space.

$5,000 donation from the Faith Tilk Memorial Fund in 2008 painted the whole space, put a new tile floor in the art room, and bought artwork-drying racks, tabletop easels and many pairs of dance shoes, all sizes.

2010 - Grand Theatre Christmas Wish for Kids - $6,800

The magic of Christmas and the theatre were woven together for hundreds of children in December 2010. The Faith Tilk Memorial Fund purchased tickets for kids and their caregivers to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the holiday highlight of the Grand Theatre season. A post-show party that included a visit from Santa Claus topped off the performance.
